NORD STAGE 3 QUICK TIPS
- The power button is on the back panel towards the right-hand side
- Master volume knob is located on the upper-left of the main panel
- Turn the ‘Program’ knob (located just to the right of the center screen) all the way to the left to access Program 1 (A: 11), which is a Grand Piano sound
- You can use the buttons directly below the screen labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 to quickly access the sounds we have programmed for worship
- Program 1 (A: 11) is a Grand Piano sound
- Program 2 (A:12) is an Upright Piano sound
- Program 3 (A: 13) is a Rhodes Electric Piano sound
- Bringing up the Modulation Wheel (the gray stone wheel on the left of the keyboard) will fade in a ‘Warm Pad’ sound
- Starting this wheel at about 50% of the way up will produce a good starting point for a blend of your Piano/Electric Piano sound and the pad
- During ministry time you may wish to bring down the volume of the piano. The Nord is organized into sections. The organ section on the left, the piano section just to the left of the screen, the synth section just to the right of the screen, and the effects section off to the far right. Locate the Piano section, and move the knob titled ‘Level’. There is a red LED light that shows you where your current level is. The programs are at full volume (0db) by default
- When coming up on stage to play behind a pastor, you may wish to start playing from a very quiet level. Bring the modulation wheel all the way down and turn the ‘Level’ of the piano section down to zero. At this point, you can play a chord, hold the sustain pedal down, and then swell in the modulation wheel to slowly bring a pad in. You can then slowly bring in a piano sound as well
